The Crystal Sisters had a fun time at the Great Muppet Caper last night. I got to Jeni's house before she did and let myself in (it's totally safe to let your internet friends go in your house when you're not there, meh) to see the kittens. Billy tipped over a lamp while marking it too hard, lol. I picked up all the glass from the broken bulb and let Jeni know about it. Later she told Dave and he totally said it was really me that broke it and I just blamed it on the cat... Yes, I was rubbing my cheeks on your lamp and it fell over. I love lamp. I sorry. ;)
We went to the Bull and Bear for dinner. Man that place is a diiiiiive just like Jeni said it would be. But us folks who grew up po' like that sorta thang.
Our other motive for going to the show was to mildly protest the timing of the theater's Labyrinth showing. March 19! Hello! Four days after BabyQ is due, people! We can't have that. See my written plight to get them to change the date and their b.s. response here. I wore my Labyrinth shirt and Jeni wore a puffy shirt like Sarah's and attached her Toby socks to the BabyQ area. Here she is attaching the sockies:
Note the lack of lens focus. That was because the Bull and Bear is just a tee bit thick with smoke. It makes us laugh.
Back to our protest, or "civil disobedience" as my Mom called it: We thought we would attach signs to our backs to draw attention and then we could explain our purpose when asked. However, we talked and talked at dinner and then realized we had eight minutes to pay the bill and walk over to the theater. So we opted to plaster the bathroom with our signs that read "SAVE JENI ! (her baby is due 3/15) CHANGE THE DATE ! (of Labyrinth showing 3/19) DON'T DEFY ME... (please)":
And here is Jeni looking pleased with ourselves in her Sarah shirt with Toby socks and sign:
No one actually asked us about it but that was because we timed it very badly. Maybe the signs will do the trick? We can hope and dream. And at least Dave didn't have to receive our one-phone-call-from-jail;)
Here's the original movie poster. The theater owner always gets retro posters for the retro showings:
Here you can see the authenticity of the 35mm film. Note the green stripe on the right side. It was there the entire movie:
And here is the best example of why I heart Charles Grodin (wtf ya'll? he is now 72!) in this film. He is SO funny. And because I now have a still photograph of this scene, it appears he's feeling up Miss Piggy. I suppose that just makes it funnier, hee.
Another thing I was excited for was that hysterical line of Janice's. I love Janice and think I could successfully argue she's the best Muppet. Jeni and I were whispering and missed it!! Boo. So. This morning I filmed my TV playing the DVD so I could share it with you all, esp Jeni and Donna because Donna lurves Janice too. Enjoy!
All pics here.

While I applaud the civil disobiedence, I have to say one thing. Due date, Schmoo date. The people that give you the due date are guessing!! When I got mine, orig. Oct.7, they thought I needed an ultrasound to confirm, at which point they moved it to Sept. 23. When Sept. passed with no baby there was talk of induction. Baby Ayla made her appearance on Oct. 3. Point being, they have no clue. You'll probably be ok. But good luck with the protest anyway!

"Schmoo date." lol I agree. It's just too close for comfort:(
My friend was "due" to deliver her son last year on 9/25 or so and he wasn't born until 10/13. He cooked a plenty. By 3 months he was wearing 12 months clothes, lol.

LOL. What a lovely post. I can't decide if we should point the Colony peeps to it or not. I'm worried that if the staff just cleaned up the restroom at the end of the night, they mighta tossed our signs (your hard work) into the trash without telling anybody. That'd be a shame!
I had a great time, and was glad I got to see the movie. I know I've seen it at least once, but it's been *ages*! And SO glad you showed that clip of Janice - I had no idea it'd be *that* funny.
As far as the due date question Dottie raised, it's more a matter of principle and common decency on the part of the Colony, isn't it? :)
Babies can healthily arrive between 38 weeks and 42 weeks. Before that and they might not be fully cooked, after that and they might start to prune up too much. (Yes, those are the official medical terms.)
So I'm not standing by our due date as a hard and fast date. However, the multiple ultrasounds we've had all indicate the same due date, so I do think we're pretty on target there. Like I told the folks at the Colony, I hope that I can go see the movie and have my water break on their seats. :)

P.S. When Dave read "I sorry. I love lamp." he laughed out loud! :)
