I HEART JENI MORE THAN EVERRRRR!(Sorry dude. My hair was totally in your face... Weather? ;) )

Tonight, we met for the first time! Not just blog friends! Real life friends!! We had dinner and a lovely chat where we determined we are very much alike in spirit. While ordering our dinner, the cashier asked us if we were sisters. She said it kind of low but I heard her and started chuckling, because I'd been thinking we look alike all day. She repeated herself and Jeni replied "Not yet." *gush*

Then we headed over to the Colony to see the Dark Crystal:The theater was a trip! Cool but retro... Check out the weird carpet on the walls:Jeni hadn't seen the Dark Crystal in years but I had been refreshed on Sunday with my rental.
It was really funny to hear her reactions. And she got scared when that Skeksis dies (hysterically) at the beginning. In her defense, they are really creepy. Mystics are better. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh":It was also fun to hear the theater's reactions and laughter at the really ridiculous parts including Chamberlain's "Mmmmmmm!"s. So funny. Someone even let out a Fizzgig-like "Arr-arr-arr!!!" at a really quiet part. hahaha

On Sunday when I watched it, I looked for things I missed the first time and tried to view it an innocent, childlike way and just enjoy it. (Like I said before, I feel like I should like it because it's Jim Henson.) Well, it helped. Then I watched the "Making of" documentary and it's astounding how much effort and love were poured into this film.

I appreciate it even more after seeing it on the big screen, and in its original format, no less. It was all dark and dusty and glitchy from time to time. And during the final scene you can very obviously tell how the action was pieced together with the scenery. Lots of color differential. But still, very cool since I was a whopping 1 when this movie came out.

Now I can view it with humor and laugh at the dumb parts, even like my beloved Labyrinth. And after seeing it last night with many people, specifically Jeni, I can safely say: I now like it. Phfew! I know it's probably lame, but it's a big relief for me because I was disheartened. (Jeni knows what I mean.)

Thanks, Jeni! You helped. hehe. And I think "not yet" went quickly and we can safely refer to ourselves as sisters... Crystal sisters;)

Thanks!! I lightened the Mystics one a bit. Was way too dark. I quite like the richness of the purple in the logo one. Looks like it was high-quality film! haha
